Yoke, for all practical purposes with versions 6.0 - 9.2 you have to re-create the entire tablespace to remove a file and have the tablespace accessible.

I have committed the oops myself. It is a pain to fix.

By the way the comp.databases.oracle newsgroup has subgroups and when a newgroup has subgroups you should generally post to the subgroups and not the group.
