Please display the error messages.

I believe OUI is calling a 'verify that all is sane' routine [sic] that, in turn, does an RPM query in Linux. After all, the only certified versions of Linux are RH and UL, both RPM based.

Dusan is absoutely correct that OUI does the equivalent of package management for any Oracle product. In the latest releases it uses an XML-based repository.
