And another year after that, they will have the backport to 9 done, but won't release it because 9 will be finalized. :-)

Searching for 10.2 in the bug database does give some interesting insight into things that have gone wrong. I particularly like http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=BUG&p_id=440317 both for how long it has existed and what it implies about recent postings here regarding serializable and being stuck at particular versions. Not to mention bugs not actually being fixed.
