Hello @all!

I am having some trouble to install a oracle 9i instance to a computer already hosting a oracle 8.1.7 installation. Before starting the installation, I set the environment parameters and started the runInstaller. The gui is guiding me through the installtion to the moment where I can see the summary of the installation tasks. In the next step the installer tries to uninstall the installed java runtime to replace it with a newer version. After that step the installer displays the startscreeen again, asking me for the oracle home. The java was not updated or uninstalled and when I click through the installation dialog again, it ends up with an unrecoverable error and is aborting the installation. Can anyone give me a hint what is going wrong here? I set the oracle home to a different location than the oracle 8 installation's and I also tried using a different oracle base. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance
