Hello Life Learner,

   First step is to generate statspack report for the time of the delete test. This will help to find out where oracle spends most of the time during delete.

   If you can please put report for the group review.

   Another thing: make sure than SUN database is set up the exactly the same way as the one on HP. Checking statspack report then can help to pinpoint what OS tuning is needed.

 Hope these would help you to start investigation.
