Oracle's standby type stuff and logical replication still requires homogenous hardware.
http://www.quest.com/shareplex-portal/system_requirements.asp might be more to your liking, if you have an unlimited budget.

How about buying bigger network devices for both machines, setting up dblinks and doing create table as select, enable constraints then create indices?
