Oracle 8.1.7.3 on Sun Solaris



Experiencing terrible performance and looking at Blocking Locks (TOAD) I see:



Blocking OS User: Oracle


Blocking App: CKPT


Lock Type: TC


Lock Mode: ROW-S(SS)


Lock Request: Exclusive



Does anyone know what this lock is and what causes it?
