I don't know how Veritas softeare reacts to it, but you could put 2 servers on one SCSI RAID array. But if you want more than 2 nodes, then go with expensive FC-AL. We've hacked around with Sun A1000 entry level box in cluster, though not in RAC conf. You should always verify whether your config is supported by Oracle, Sun and Veritas if using all of those.

Other solutions such FireWire disks (which currently works with linux only I believe) or using NBD for using network block devices as "disks" are for testing and experimenting only.
