I believe your absolutely correct. Doesn't matter whether it's 6i or 9i.

Well, it's rather important don't you think (licensing) ?

True, other than an 9iAS license fee either per cpu or per named user and it doesn't matter that one only need the applet and oc4j (and perhaps Oracle's modified Apache ).

This is my understanding, but I most certainly would very much like to be told that I'm wrong.
