Socket .... generally a socket is started against a port to open the transport.

Offhand - do you have any firewall software running on the machine? Something that basically blocks all/any TCP/IP ports from opening? If so, try openeing port 1521 and see what happens. Received on Wed Jun 04 2003 - 21:11:29 CDT
