Oracle 9.2.0.2 under SuSe Linux 8.0 professional:

When I start runInstaller I get the message:

"./runInstaller : ./runInstaller : cannot execute binary file."

I checked /var/log/messages and there I found (twice):

"modprobe: modprobe: can't locate module binfmt-646c"

I have performed all the pre-installation actions as described in the Installation Guide and expanding my memory to 512MB.

I checked /etc/modules.conf and there were a few aliases of the form binfmt-nnn which all pointed to the same module. I added my binfmt-464c and tried again. I still get the same response, but the logging in /var/log/messages is gone.

I'm stuck. Can anybody enlighten me?
