I must apologize for putting it so bluntly, but having been on the receiving end last year of a similar dose of "enlightened" Java design, it's stronger than me... :D

Details, details. What's important is that Java people are geniuses and they can do all these things better than anyone else before. Notwithstanding minor issues like decoupling, yadda yadda!...
