Problem installing Personal Oracle 8i

I'm trying to install a downloaded version of Personal Oracle 8i.  The
installer comes up.  When I try to install, the hourglass appears for about
3 seconds and then nothing.  No errors, no install, either.  I think that I
remember hearing about an install bug on Intel systems.  Any help greatly
appreciated.
