We implemented ConText/Intermedia and it worked very well for us. A couple of points:

• write your own filter/parser specific to your needs. It's easy to do and it'll parse documents substantially faster than the default. No fault of the default as it needs to be able to handle quite a load.
• the DR$ indexes get more fragmented (I think it's even documented) the more 'real-time'ish keywording you do.
