error in identifying control file

Hi All,

When i am trying to start the database, I get the following error. we are using oracle 9.2.0 on Solaris 8.

SQL> startup
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 126804664 bytes

Fixed Size                   434872 bytes
Variable Size             104857600 bytes
Database Buffers           20971520 bytes
Redo Buffers                 540672 bytes

ORA-00205: error in identifying controlfile, check alert log for more info

The alert log says the following.

ORA-00202: controlfile: '/export/home/oracle/dev/SAMPLE/control01.ctl' ORA-27046: file size is not a multiple of logical block size Additional information: 1
Fri Dec 27 05:56:47 2002
ORA-205 signalled during: alter database mount...

All the control files are present in the location that is specified in init$ORACLE_SID.ora file.

Any help to fix this problem is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
