Even a mirror can be broken.
I'm no oracle guru, but I should make another device for logs, so the db can be restored and rollback'ed to a proper state in a time that is acceptable.

Plan for the worst case first ,, recover , backup , then the other.

Also, logs and data mey have different mount options, example forcedirectio,noatime for the db filesys.
