A true story kids ...

last week on-site at a well-known UK bank chewing the fat with the one of the e-commerce dbas - they're running SQL Server 7 .

over discussions it emerged that they wanted to upgrade to SQL Server 2000.

2 boxes , 4 processors each.

Guess how much ?

£12,000. Ok I thought until he opened his mouth and said

"Per processor".
