I'm not sure why he simple doesn't use AUDIT CONNECT, which also tracks the disconnects and queries DBA_AUDIT_SESSION (init.ora's audit_trail parameter needs to be set to "db" for this - without the quotes that is)
You can not COMMIT in a trigger, as that violates the nature of a trigger (which is *supplementing* normal operation, not screwing it up)
The trigger would better be converted to an autonomous transaction with the corresponding pragma used in the source code.
