Hi,

One of our instances has started to develop resource type errors and to remedy it i have to bounce the instance. I've looked on technet and google about this error and don't really seem to find anything that seems similar in possible causes although i have found this error.

I got....

bash-2.02$ sqlplus user/pass_at_AUDI2

SQL*Plus: Release 8.1.5.0.0 - Production on Thu Oct 31 16:53:42 2002

(c) Copyright 1999 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.

ERROR:
ORA-12500: TNS:listener failed to start a dedicated server process

so it then....

bash-2.02$ ORACLE_SID=AUDI2
bash-2.02$ svrmgrl /nolog

Oracle Server Manager Release 3.1.5.0.0 - Production

Connected.

Any thoughts on this one? Can i post any more configs to help debug some more? Are there any scripts that monitor resources taken up by particular users on the instance?

thanks in advance
