Personal Oracle installation problem

Hi,
While trying to install Personal Oracle 8i, I am getting the following error while running the setup:

Java RunTime Environment was not found. Hence Oracle Universal Installer cannot be run. Please visit htttp://www.javasoft.com and install JRE version 1.1.1.7 or higher and try again.
