Linux is another flavour of Unix so have a search for hotbackup.sh on google.com and see what you come up with.

Steps
tablespaces in backup mode
unix cp datafiles to different location (locB) tablespaces out of backup mode
switch the last logfile
copy all current and archive redo log files to (locB) setup database config files on LocB
startup database on LocB
recover database on LocB as required
...job done

This is covered extensively in the backup and recovery part of the Oracle manual....
