Hi Cihat,

Does the execution plan reveal anything untoward ?

Can you generate stats on the table and see if the chain_cnt or avg_space look suz.

Can you look at your v$mystat, v$session_wait, v$session_event, v$sesstat and see what is causing your session to wait.

Does v$session_longops give some indication on how long Oracle might be in giving you some details ?

Is there anything in the alert log that suggests a problem.

It certainly all sounds a little weird but the wait statistics should give some indication on what might be occurring.
