How many DISPATCHER/SERVER for MTS

Hi All,

I am running Oracle 8.0.6 32 bits on Solaris 2.6 , 420R machine.

Currently, process= 2000 , session=2400 , this server has 4 Gig memory, 4 cpu. Basically, my work want to increase the process=4000, since they have a lot of middle-tier servers to connect to oracle.

Questions is , I have to switch to USE MTS instead of dedicated process.

I know how to set up the MTS syntax inside the initORACLE_SID.ora file, but now my questions how many
dispatchers and what should mts_max_servers should be, in order to support such a high volume OLTP database.

This database is a very high READ-INTENSIVE database, every second process 380+ select (read) request.

mts_max_dispatchers=10
mts_servers=1
mts_max_servers=5
