Hi Chuck,

Lets be perfectly clear about this. EXP/IMP is not a "backup/restore solution" !! It takes logical copies of components of your database, nothing more, nothing less. It has many uses but a "backup/restore solution" is *NOT* one of them. Never has been.

You need to take a *physical* backup of the database, you have to have all the *redo logs* since your backup to have a "backup/restore solution".

Quite, 100%, totally and utterly, different kettle of fishbits (thanks Howard) functionality between the two.
