To a certain extent I can understand this one. You know the company mantra - "thou shalt not set an event without Oracle Support telling thee to".

Some of these have been left undocumented purely and simply because they're meant for internal use only (i.e. something else in the Oracle code uses it). Whether that makes sense or not is probably not up to me to decide, but there are always going to be people like Jonathan that find out about something like this simply because they see it and play around with it. Sometimes that works out well, sometimes you end up with more myths (like the discussions that have been held here about things like the setting of SPIN_COUNT - not that I'm implying Jonathan had anything to do with this!).
