Maybe it's time to teach him how to look up terms in documentation and use search engines then?

Effectively, he did. The answer was right in front of him and could take just a few minutes to find, but he chose to waste some time typing his question and posting it to the group and some more time patiently waiting for response...

My feeling is that "If nothing else helps - RTFM" is interpreted a bit different these days: "If nobody cares to answer - oh well, RTFM is inevitable..." :)
