You could start with installing on a _certified_ platform (SuSE - SLES7). I am not saying you will not get this to work, but it would make your life easier when you would go for the platforms on which 9iAS is certified to work.

RedHat 7.3 will never be certified - RedHat Advanced Server 2.1 certification is projected.
