More information is required.
Do you wish to create a second instance in a Parallel server configuration or do you wish to create a 2nd instance and database?

If it is a new instance and database at the same version of ORACLE, you can pick a new SID a run the database create scripts again. Make sure you use unique filenames and hopefully in unuique disrectories. You will need to add it to /var/opt/oracle/oratab.

If you want to do parallel server you will need to do some more research.

Good Luck

  Solaris 8, Oracle 8.1.7

I have successfully installed Oracle and created an instance. I have created a new user and want to create a new instance. My question is, do go through the full install process or is there another way to create the new instance? I did create the last instance using the createddatabase scripts.

  Thanks in advance.
