RTFM. RTFM. RTFM. (worth repeating as it seems to be a lost art around here)

Which will tell you that the PL/SQL u0801050.sql proc (or similar) in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin needs to be run.

Question. Do you feel comfortable trusting a complete stranger on a Usenet group to tell you how to upgrade your database? Don't you think is it a safer and securer option to rather see what the 8.1.7 manual says about how to upgrade an older database?
