Hello Reza,
never tried it on different OS', but according to the docs this scenario will not working. Take a look at:
http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle8i/doc_library/817_doc/server.817/a76995/standbyc.htm#30150 One of the prerequisites is that you must use same OS, OS-version, same RDBMS-Version including patch levels.
