after db upgrade, no portal app access -????? help!

Well, this is a strange one.

I am running 9iAS 1.0.2.2.1 (Portal 3.0) on Solaris 2.6 against an 8.1.7.3.0 instance. I just upgraded from 8.1.7.2.0.

Whereas the application (using modplsql) worked properly against 8.1.7.2.0, it no longer works at all. Access to the Gateway Configuration Menu page is fine. I followed the patchset instructions and have, for fun, recompiled all affected schemas and reloaded owacomm.sql.

Has anyone seen this type of problem? Aside from an actual bug I'm just wondering what other config stuff I can check. Metalink didn't show anything (or I didn't have the right search terms).

If it is convenient, email will reach me faster.
