Dear Sybrand,



I tried the full user/pwrd_at_servicename and got the 12154  error. As far as I
can see the .ora files are setup as they should be. I have attached them and
the trace, the trace is difficult for me to understand. I am sure you are
tired of dealing with these, lets face it if Oracle made the install a bit
more automatic (I.e. probe for these settings, not make us find them with
the danger of us newbies mucking it up) then everyones life would be richer.
Personally I feel like I wasted a day of my life dealing with this. And thus
any help is gratefully received.
