We've just had a similar problem with RedHat. It is because Oracle uses some old glibc and therefore does work with the newer versions. There exists a detailed fix for a RedHat installation at:

Not a 100% procent sure that it works for Suse, but it will give you the idea. The other "fixes" that I read of (including RedHat and OTN) only moved the problem elsewhere if it helped at all.
