I am seeing contention on this latch but can't find any documentation (am I surprised?) on it. The miss ratio is running 2-3% on it. Can anyone offer an explanation as to exactly what this latch is and how to reduce contention on it? I've already tried looking in the Oracle manuals and Metalink and came up with nothing.
