Make sure you changed Oracle Home to the 6i home and then use Net8 Easy Confiuguration utility (in the same menu as the home changing routine) to create a service name to connect to your remote host. If you have created the service name check the ORACLE_HOME\Net80\admin\tnsnames.ora to ensure that it has the entry in it and that the entry is xxxx.world (where xxxx is your sevice name) if it is xxxx.domain_name then you have to enter that exact string as the connect string. i.e. xxxx.domain_name
