Hi group,

I have created a DB-link from a DB which is installed with a 7bit char-set to a db which is installed with a 8bit char-set.

When I write data with so called 'umlauts' (öäüß etc.), there are wrong characters been written to the target-db.

How can oracle deal with such a situation? Can I give the char-set as an option to the db-link???

Thanks for help in advance!

Greetings,

Andy. Received on Wed Aug 22 2001 - 06:38:22 CDT
