sad but true. the attitude of management always seems to be : if it costs more, it must be better. i'd be interested to hear if anyone had any theories on how it could ever be otherwise... personally i tend to take the opposite attitude. my experience with consultants has not been particularly favourable (with a couple of exceptions). a large proportion don't really seem to give a s**t about what they are doing; in particular they have a tendency to only do exactly what they are asked, and no more, which is not so great when you're trying to diagnose problems.
