in your case it's possible to use so called direct upgrade path.
For details see Oracle document A76957-01 - "Oracle 8i Migration".
"Upgrading the Database to the New Oracle8i Release" on page 7-3.
There you can find a step-by-step instruction how to move from 8.1.5 to
8.1.6.
