There's a hidden parameter "_disable_logging" which turns of ALL redo generation -nothing is logged at all. It is of course guaranteed to render your database unrecoverable (you'd have to restore from the last complete cold backup). And its use is totally unsupported by Oracle. I've successfully ruined a training database by inadvertently doing a shutdown abort after having set it on (aborts *require* subsequent Instance Recovery -only if there's no redo, then SMON can't perform the recovery.....)
So yes, you can do what you suggest, but at *enormous* risk.
In certain circumstances (like a load of 10 million rows to a just-backed up system), I can see a use for it. But not otherwise.
