Exp/Imp from Unix to NT?

Is it possible to import across platforms? I am trying to read a dump file generated on a Unix server into an NT machine, and get the following error:

IMP-00010: Not a valid export file, header failed verification IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully

Export utility v.8.0.5
Import utility v.8.1.6
