Import taking a long time.

I'm doing an import into a 8.1.6 database running on Linux (Total size of the export file is about 6megs).

It's taking a long time and I'm wondering if there is a way to determine whether it's making progress, or just hanging.

If anyone could send me some scripts, or at least some suggestions for tables to examine I'd really appreciate it.
