We've being using the 64 bit Version of oracle 8i r3 (8.1.7) on solaris 7 on sun e10k for some months (in the period 4/2000-1/2001 we've used the 8.1.6 version also 64 bit). I think the statement you've been said is some kind of confusion. Which version of Unix (probably Solaris) do you run ?
