migration from 7.3.4 to 8.1.7 via export/import

Hello,

We tried several times to migrate databases from version 7.3.4 to version 8.1.7 via export/import of full databases under Solaris and Windows NT 4, with and without direct path, etc. Each time we got a never ending process and a doubtful import. ( on the NT servers, taskmanager indicates even a 100% busy processor !!). Exporting/Importing one table is fine, fromuser/touser is also wrong.

I must say we are respecting a procedure wich worked very well from 7.3.4 to 8.1.6.1.3 (NT) or 8.1.6.3.0 (Solaris).

Asked some help to Oracle hotline, but none answer yet.

As anyone already got that trouble and got some solutions ?
