Very slow dblink in Oracle 8.1.6

Hi all

We have 2 databases : Database A and Database B.

When I connect to database A and run a simple query, it returns in less than a second.

When I connect to database B and execute the same query against database A through a dblink, it takes almost 30 seconds.

We need the dblink badly to perform unions, minuses et all for data validation purposes.

Any suggestions on where we should look to speed up the dblink ?
