All,
  Based on your responses, I realize that oracle cannot be jarred as part of an executable jar and therefore doesnot meet our requirements. It would have been nice to utilize their synchronization mechanism, but again the initial requirement was not met. I appreciate your responses! Thanks, Bruce.
