A call to arms

I have been trying to get support for Oracle on Debian and have found that Oracle has not certified against this distribution and one reason is that it is free (and Debian 2.1 was a bit behind the times as far as libraries goes).

Now that 2.2 is released, this should be up-to-date enough to be supported.

However, there has not been enough interest in this distribution for them to move up their certification schedule. If there is enough interest, the Oracle developemnt team will move this up on the priorities.

Please email me personally (ed.davison_at_bus.utexas.edu) if you are interesting in helping this issue along and seeing Debian certified by Oracle.
