G'Day!

Funnily enough, I believe the lock manager has changed significantly in the 8.0.5 to 8.0.6 version upgrade. Note that versions 8.0.5/8.1.5 are now de-supported by Oracle - 8.0.6/8.1.6 are the current supported versions. So whereas the lock manager gave no problems previously (we're happily running OPS v 8.0.5), it may now have become an issue. I admit we haven't yet done a trial upgrade to 8.0.6 to test this yet though.

Oracle always says this :-) But what version of OPS are these clients on? We're happy, but still on 8.0.5

Better make sure you only use cluster-certified hardware AND software for a Sun cluster/OPS setup! Support would be non-existant otherwise ...

We've been running several OPS systems on Solaris 2.6 servers for some time without any problems. However, we have had to patch up to level 8.0.5.2 server and 8.0.5.1.6 client (NT) to eliminate all problems. We ended up programming round the client re-connect problems though so we can now use any version of the client. The server update was essential though. We only use Sun hardware, so I can't comment on alternate storage.
