Replication: specific questions, please HELP!!!

Hi, I just started to investigate a little about replication dabatases Master to Master.
 I have some specific questions:
 1- Should I use the SAME oracle version in both sites?  2- How fast I can send/receive the data? I mean, suppose that I update a row or insert a row in SITE1, how fast that information is going to be  replicated at SITE2?
 3- Could you give me some help in how to do point 2, how to define a sync replication?
