   Mine was a new install. Someone else pointed out there is now a file called glogin.sql in a different folder which does the same thing as login.sql. The registry still points to dbs, so if you create a dbs folder and a login.sql then SQL*Plus will read your settings.

   Sincwe glogin.sql also works, that is a better way to go. The other files which used to be in dbs have been moved, so I'm probably wrong. Oracle may have inteneded dbs to go away although I had a different response from tech support.
