Need help in OEM client

I just installed Oracle 8 and OEM on the server. Now I want to try manage Oracle from my workstation. I then installed Oracle Client and OEM Client on my workstation which is running NT 40 wrkstn w/srvpk 6. I am able to get into the server through OEM. I am able to connect to the databases. But launching a database tool for the database (tried on all databases) such as Security Manager,Storage Manager, Schema Manager, and Instance Manager, I am just getting an hourglass and it won't connect for me to the specified tool. For SQL Plus worksheet, I am getting an error that says "unable to resolve hostname "otsoracle.thebus.org"
However if I launch the tool in DBA Management Pack to get access to the database directly through the tool, I am okay. My net8 service is running good. I tested it and it was successfull. Am I missing something?
